RE: Immunization Registry Rules

Dear Dr. Archer:

I want to thank you for your continued responsiveness to not on[y my questions regarding the immunization program. but also those of several concerned parents. Your availability for personal meetings has accelerated the process of having our concerns addressed. However, based on the most recent release of the proposed rules for the immunization registry, many questions remain regarding this program.

Attached is a letter from Dawn Richardson which addresses several apparent differences between the proposed rules and verbal agreements we had with you at our meeting in the Capitol on this issue several months ago. I understand that many times agreements may need to change based on the availability of facts. so I would appreciate your comments regarding these contradictions.

Furthermore. I would appreciate a thorough review of Ms. Richardson's concerns by the appropriate legal personnel in your department While the issues raised in her letter are quite numerous. I feel they are very sound and deserve a detailed answer from a policy standpoint. If there is any way a response can be obtained before the September 8th deadline for public comment, it would be greatly appreciated.

Again, I appreciate your cooperation on this and other issues. If you or your staff have any questions regarding this request, please contact me. I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours respectfully,

JERRY PATTERSON
Senator - District 11
